Plastic – A Poem by Sundas Shamshad

Inside my chest,
plastic rests where flesh once bloomed.
A piece of me,
taken in battle—
the price of survival.

I touch the scar,
a silent echo of loss.
It feels like skin,
but not the warmth of me.

An imitation of wholeness,
stitched together with courage,
disguised as healing.

My body remembers
what it has given up,
yet still it carries me—
fragile and fierce,
a story written
in scar and plastic.
