Reflections from e-Health 2026: Why Canada’s Health Innovation Community Matters

By Peter Nguyen, Founder and Project Lead, DT Consulting and DT Health AI

Attending e-Health 2026 in Halifax from June 14 to 16 was an invaluable experience for the DT Health AI team. As a Canadian company focused on advancing healthcare through artificial intelligence, federated learning, and secure health data innovation, the conference provided an exceptional opportunity to connect with healthcare leaders, researchers, technology innovators, and policy-makers from across the country.

One of the highlights of the event was the quality of conversations taking place around the future of healthcare. Across sessions, networking events, and exhibitor interactions, we saw a shared commitment to tackling some of Canada’s most pressing healthcare challenges through collaboration and innovation. Discussions around responsible AI adoption, data interoperability, health system modernization, and patient-centred care reinforced the importance of building solutions that are both technically advanced and operationally practical.

For DT Health AI, e-Health was also an opportunity to establish meaningful connections with healthcare organizations exploring new ways to leverage data while maintaining privacy and security. We were encouraged by the growing interest in privacy-preserving AI technologies, including federated learning approaches that enable organizations to collaborate on innovation without compromising sensitive patient information.

What makes e-Health particularly valuable for start-ups is the unique environment it creates. Few conferences bring together such a diverse mix of decision-makers, clinicians, researchers, innovators, and industry partners in one place. The event provides emerging companies with direct access to healthcare stakeholders who can offer insights into real-world challenges, validate solutions, and open doors to future partnerships.

For start-ups considering attendance, our advice is simple: come prepared to engage, listen, and collaborate. The relationships built during e-Health often extend far beyond the conference itself. Whether you are introducing a new technology, seeking strategic partnerships, or learning about evolving healthcare priorities, the conference offers a platform to accelerate your growth while contributing to Canada’s digital health ecosystem.

We would like to thank the e-Health team for organizing another outstanding event and for continuing to foster the connections and conversations that drive healthcare innovation forward. DT Health AI looks forward to returning in the years ahead.
