e-Health 2025 Host Committee – Charities Options

The e-Health Conference and Tradeshow has identified 22 charities to consider supporting through the 25th Anniversary $25,000.00 fundraising initiative. The Host Committee will select five charities, each receiving a $5,000.00 financial donation.

Below is the Charity Selection Criteria Framework and list of charities for the Host Committee’s review and selection.

Charity Selection Criteria Framework

Governance: The charity must be a registered Canadian charitable organization (recognized by Industry Canada). It should demonstrate transparency by providing publicly accessible information, including:

  • The composition of its board of directors.
  • Financial statements.
  • An annual impact report outlining its achievements.

Regionality: Ideally, the selected charity should have a primary focus or operate within Canada, ensuring relevance to the local community and alignment with Canadian health priorities.

The selected charities should not:

  • Violate human rights or promote discrimination.
  • Be political or religious in nature.
  • Negatively impact health outcomes.

Need: Charities must exhibit a clear and pressing need for support. Where possible, contributions should target a specific project or campaign, maximizing the effectiveness of the conference’s support.

Evaluation: To ensure thoughtful selection, the following evaluation components will be reviewed:

  • Charity Intelligence Canada Reports: Ratings and insights from Charity Intelligence (if available).
  • If no formal report exists, charities will be assessed on:
    • Results Reporting: Outcomes achieved in the last fiscal year.
    • Financial Transparency: Availability of audited financial statements.
    • Funding Need: Analysis of cash and investments relative to annual program costs (“program cost coverage”).
    • Cost-Efficiency: Allocation of resources, aiming for overhead/administration costs between 5% and 35%.
