The Canadian Health Informatics Awards

Tickets: Tickets to the CHIA Gala can be purchased through your conference registration. For Full Registration Delegates, a $25.00 CAD commitment is requested and the full amount will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.  For Limited Access Registration Delegates and Guests, tickets are $135.00 CAD. Dress: Dress up for the Gala, traditionally a black-tie occasion, or, in keeping with the tradition of the evening social at e-Health, feel free to wear more casual attire.

Event Host: Julie Kim

Julie Kim is a two-time Canadian Comedy Award nominated stand-up comedian who has performed extensively across North America. She has been featured multiple times on national television and radio, having performed for the Halifax Comedy Festival, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Just for Laughs Northwest, CBC’s The Debaters, Laugh Out Loud, and more. She believes that laughter is the best medicine (except in life-threatening emergency situations), and that humour is the shortest distance between two people (if you’re not being literal about space and time). Julie has also been a part-time professor at multiple Canadian universities, educating students at both undergraduate and graduate levels about health care and health information technology. She has also been a health care consultant, facilitator, and technology advisor for priority health care transformation initiatives across Canada.

Awards: The evening will start with a reception followed by dinner and the awards presentation. These awards pay tribute to individuals, projects, teams and companies. 

An impartial Adjudication Committee, comprised of leaders in the HI profession, will evaluate all nominations and choose the recipient(s) for all awards.
