Abstract Submission Guidelines
***SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED***
- Concurrent sessions will be allocated 20 minutes each.
- Panel sessions will be allocated 60 minutes each.
- Roundtable sessions will be allocated 90 minutes each.
Concurrent Sessions (20 minutes)
Presentations accepted for concurrent sessions will be clustered with others in the same track or with a similar focus as much as possible. Each should have no more than two presenters and allow at least 5 minutes for audience engagement.
NOTE: As there is a limit to the number of concurrent sessions in the program, the abstract review committee may elect to recommend some requested concurrent submissions for an e-poster. Please indicate in your submission if you are interested in this alternate form of presentation.

e-Posters
An innovation in the 2012 program will be the institution of electronic posters (e-posters) to replace traditional poster boards. Presenters will have the ability to upload images, slideshows, and videos on their e-poster. This will allow delegates to view and interact with your poster on large screens at stations in the Exhibit Hall.
The e-poster format will also allow for the scheduling of specific topics at designated times in order for authors to be available to briefly discuss their work. A panel of judges will rate all posters according to the following criteria:
- Clarity of presentation
- Appropriate use of graphics
- Succinctness of messages
- Creative use of media
- Originality and overall visual appeal
The author of the best e-poster will be announced and awarded a prize on the final day of the conference

Panel Sessions (60 minutes)
These sessions are designed to allow a team of presenters to bring a variety of perspectives to a single eHealth topic, initiative, or experience that might not otherwise be possible within a single concurrent session. Presenters should allow for a minimum of 10 minutes for audience engagement.
NOTE: As there is a limit to the number of panel sessions in the program, the abstract review committee may elect to recommend some requested panel submissions for a concurrent session.

Roundtable Sessions (90 minutes)
Roundtable sessions are designed to provide two or more perspectives on a specific e-Health issue challenge or controversy. These sessions are designed to invite deliberation and discussion on e-Health topics which may be contentious, unresolved, or debatable. Following a brief presentation of two or three perspectives on the issue (30 minutes), conference participants will be invited to engage in a dialogue with the presenters over the remaining 60 minutes. Authors are encouraged to collaborate with colleagues, provincially, nationally, or internationally in the preparation of submissions.
Abstracts should identify the issue for discussion, the significance for eHealth in Canada, and a clear statement of the points/questions that will provide the basis of a facilitated discussion between the presenters and conference participants. The authors must also identify a subject matter expert who will facilitate the roundtable discussion should the submission be accepted.
